Bobby Bitmead-Peck Named Junior Club Person of the Year 2025

Club Chair, Richard Chapman was delighted to present Bobby Bitmead-Peck with the ‘Steventon Junior Club Person of the Year 2025’ award in recognition of his exceptional dedication and contribution to the club throughout the season.

While many young cricketers purely make their mark with bat and ball, Bobby’s impact has been felt more widely throughout the club particularly behind the scenes. 

Under the expert guidance of our wonderful Head Groundsman Ian Royle, Bobby quickly earned the title of ‘The Royle Apprentice’. Throughout the season, Bobby could regularly be found out on the square, helping with the preparation and upkeep of wickets. From mowing and rolling to carefully marking out pitches, he approached every task with enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine pride in the club’s presentation.

Bobby has contributed countless hours of volunteering, supporting both his Duke of Edinburgh and Oxfordshire Cricket Future Leaders Academy Awards. Impressively, the total number of hours he has dedicated far exceeds the requirements for both awards combined, highlighting his outstanding commitment and willingness to go above and beyond.

His efforts have not only benefitted the club’s facilities but have also made a lasting impression on those around him. Bobby is widely regarded as a fantastic role model for younger members of the club, demonstrating the values of hard work, teamwork, and dedication.

Bobby’s contribution to Steventon Cricket club extends beyond his volunteering . He enjoyed an excellent playing season on the pitch too, earning the Under 15s Most Improved Player award in recognition of his commitment to improving his game. Bobby played in 21 games with both the Under 15s and Under 17s throughout the season, and was often seen working tirelessly on his batting and bowling in the nets early in the mornings.
