New Hybrid Pitches Installed!

An exciting development took place on the village green this March, as SIS Pitches undertook the installation of two new hybrid cricket pitches on the cricket square. 

Due to the club’s continued growth and success we now have five senior teams and eight junior age groups. With over 160 fixtures scheduled in the 2026 season across these teams, the new hybrid strips will help manage this demand.

The hybrid technology blends natural grass with synthetic fibres, reinforcing the surface and allowing for more frequent play without compromising quality. This ensures that both senior and junior players can enjoy reliable conditions from the start of the season in late April through to its conclusion in early September.

This essential upgrade will not only improve pitch performance throughout the season but also support the hard work of the grounds team, who face the ongoing challenge of preparing and maintaining wickets under ever increasing use and, of course, the unpredictable English weather!

After the completion of our fantastic two lane outdoor nets in 2023, this latest installation represents another positive step forward for the club, reflecting its continued growth and commitment to providing excellent facilities for all members of the community.
